A work in progress

I have such grand ideas for this blog. I also had no idea how tricky it would be to set-up my APLA web-site, my e-mial contact list, my Facebook contacts, a blog and ...... Lucky for everyone out there I have also been keeping track of all my adventures with that traditional high tech device known as a pen and notebook.

So be patient with me and I promise to share my journey with you as I prepare for my marathon debut. In the meantime please click on the title of this posting to visit my APLA website.

It's not all fun and games!

Of course I would like to just concentrate on running but part of my commitment to my team is that we are raising money for AIDS Project Los Angeles. My goal is to raise $3,500. I figure alot of $10.00 donations can go along way! I have also learned a few things about findraising over the years so to put the fun back into it, I have come up with a few incentives!

My motto / mantra as I am training is “I can, I am, I will” This is not only inspiring but I can also say it between gasps of breath and while running and sobbing, people can’t tell the difference. I have designed a silicone wristband with my logo on it for everyone who donates at least $10.00. Trust me, everyone is going to want one! These are going to be HOT! In addition, Master Chef Abbie Orozco will make and deliver brownies to anyone who donates $30.00 or more (you must be local for this offer).

I am also willing to sell my body parts. All body parts are negotiable but I do need to keep them attached. I can write on any part for the race. I am even willing to shave my head for the right amount. My son Jake is also willing to let us shave his head for the right amount. I don't know if you have seen him lately, but just picture Mr. Freeze Monster from "Rudolph" or that little evil guy in the "Incredibles".
Look here’s the deal, I am basically for sale for charity the summary is this:
$10.00 –custom logo wristband –delivered anywhere 2 sizes available (don’t be left out!)
$30.00 –Chef Abbie’s brownies –local delivery only
$50.00 –logo on my jersey
????-Michelle’s body parts (External only)
???? - Shave Jake's Head

And finally if you would like to make a donation in the name of a loved one you have lost, the amount is up to you) I will write their name on an “Earth Friendly” ribbon. I will be tying these on my waist pack the day of the marathon. They will be my inspiration that day. I then plan to release them into the ocean at sunset.
